Notable & Quotable: Wisdom from The New York Times
James, Houston, Jan. 30, 2015 Cuba is in a mess because it is a Socialist economy. Embargo? Cuba could have bought everything we buy at Walmart because it is made in China. Cuba had no restrictions related to buying things from the rest of the world but couldn't because Socialism killed their economy. This entire Obama show is a fraud and will make no difference to anybody.
Wisdom from The New York Times?
No.
Never in its news stories, editorials, or opinion pieces.
But occasionally in the "Comments" section of its online edition.

Wow! James Houston has the wisdom of Cubans, there are some Americans out there who are not blinded the light.
Vana:
Yes, James is a marvel. Besides his wisdom, I also admire his succinctness. All the articles that The New York Times has published of late about the embargo, filled with muddleheaded thinking and meaningless verbiage, do not manage to say as much about the subject or say it as well as James' 50 words.
Imagine, if you can, a newspaper staffed completely with Jameses!
More trees would survive and so would more people.
Manuel:
That would be marvelous, we need James as reporter for the NYT, surprising that yellow rag allowed his comment.
Vana:
The New York Times doesn't really censor comments except for profanity or threats. In fact, I think the moderators are probably glad when a dissenting opinion interrupts the flow of the liberal effluvium, creating the impression that rational people consider its editorials relevant or worth debating. In truth, most just fall under their own weight.
